A selection of vintage entertainment and communication technology spotted at my parent’s garage sale this past summer. I will state right now that I did not take any of this home with me. Note the “Best of Wilf Carter’ album in demo mode.

I never really had any need to use or muck about with Live Journal. That lack of fascination was partially due to the flaccid industrialness of the interface and the confusing arrangement of the taggish relationship network. The community aspects never interested me either. Perhaps if I had been 20 years younger, I would have understood more of that (and the related MySpace mentality). I suppose that I’ve loosened up a bit through my use of community-structured sites such as Flickr and Ma.gnolia, as a more themed or function focused community makes sense (and it utilimately useful) to me. Through a serendipitous series of events this week, I was offered a chance to try Vox (thanks Mr Fynes...) and here I am. Is this something I’ll use? We’ll have to see. One way or another, I do feel the need to kick start my blogging habit again.
